Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 August 2026

This policy explains how Phi 1.618 Ltd ("Phi Edge", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16339187) whose registered office is at 13 Dirty Lane, London, England, SE1 9PA, collects and uses personal data when you use phiedge.io (the "Site"), and how we use cookies. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

1. The personal data we collect

Email address – where you provide it to us, through the optional email sign-up on the Site.

Contact details and enquiry content – where you contact us through the Site, including your name, company, email address and the content of your message.

Location data – we use your IP address to identify the country you are visiting from, which determines the responsible-gambling messaging and betting-related content shown to you. This happens on every visit and does not depend on cookies or your consent choices.

Usage and device data – collected via analytics cookies where you consent: pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you move through the Site.

Affiliate referral data – where you consent to affiliate tracking, information that a referral originated from the Site, and which page or content it came from.

We do not intentionally collect special-category data. Betting-related content on the Site is intended only for users aged 18 or over, and the Site is not directed at children.

2. How and why we use your data (lawful bases)

Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. We rely on the following:

Consent – for sending you marketing or update emails, and for analytics and affiliate tracking cookies. Where you enter your email into the optional sign-up on the Site, you are consenting to receive our emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Legitimate interests – for operating, securing and improving the Site, for varying the responsible-gambling messaging shown by location, and for administering affiliate relationships and measuring referrals where consent has not otherwise been relied upon, in each case where this is not overridden by your rights.

Legal obligation – where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law.

3. Marketing emails

Our email sign-up is entirely optional. Where you subscribe, we may send you emails about Phi Edge content and offers on the basis of your consent. Our email platform is Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), which processes subscriber data on our behalf. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by using it or by contacting us at [email protected].

4. Sharing your data

We share personal data only with: our service providers who process data on our behalf, under appropriate contractual safeguards; affiliate operators and networks, only where you have consented to affiliate tracking; and authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.

Our processors include Google (Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager), Microsoft (Clarity), Mailchimp (email), our consent management platform Cookiebot, and our hosting provider Sevalla.

Some providers, including Google and Mailchimp, may process data outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or equivalent mechanisms.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

This section explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on the Site.

5.1 What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the Site to recognise your device and store information about your preferences or past actions. Similar technologies (such as pixels, tags and local storage) work in comparable ways, and references to "cookies" here include those technologies.

5.2 The cookies we use

Strictly necessary. Required for the Site to function — for example, to remember your cookie choices and keep the Site secure. These do not require consent and cannot be switched off through our consent tool.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it, and Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymised session replays and heatmaps showing how visitors interact with pages. These collect information such as approximate location, device and browser type, pages visited and on-page activity such as clicks and scrolling. Set only with your consent.

Affiliate tracking. When you click an affiliate link, a cookie may be set (by us, or by the operator or their affiliate network) recording that the referral came from Phi Edge, so that we may receive a commission if you subsequently open an account or transact. Set only with your consent. These may be read by the operator and their network; we do not control third-party cookies, and their use is governed by the third party's own policies.

Embedded video. Match pages may embed live video provided by YouTube. Where you consent, YouTube may set cookies on your device and collect information about your use of the embedded player, governed by Google's own privacy policy.

We do not use advertising cookies or ad-network pixels. Phi Edge earns revenue through affiliate links, not advertising, so we do not run third-party ad-targeting tags on the Site.

5.4 Your consent and how to manage cookies

Analytics, affiliate tracking and embedded video cookies are set only where you have given prior opt-in consent. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time via the "Manage Cookies" link on the Site.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Site works.

5.5 Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third parties, including Google (analytics and embedded video) and the affiliate operators and networks whose links appear on the Site. We do not control these cookies. Please refer to those third parties' own cookie and privacy policies for details of how they use your information.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above. Email-subscription data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Enquiries sent through the contact form are kept only as long as necessary to deal with them. Analytics and affiliate referral data are retained for up to 14 months, the Google Analytics 4 retention setting we apply, after which they are automatically deleted or aggregated. Your IP address is processed when you visit the site to identify your country and show the appropriate regional content. This country lookup is performed in real time by Cloudflare. Separately, our hosting provider, Sevalla, retains source IP addresses in request-level logs for up to 30 days for operational and security purposes. Cloudflare may also process and retain IP address information in accordance with its own privacy and data retention policies.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
